manasota district & school profiles
“School is where children go to learn their future.”
Profile Content
A District’s “profile” is the set of attributes that characterize the School District such as its Academic Grade, number of students, student demographics, etc. Similarly, a school’s profile might be its academic grade and student demographics.
The columns immediately below contain School District Information for Manatee and Sarasota District’s Traditional Public Schools and Charter Schools combined. The two categories are combined because the Florida Department of Education (FL/DoE) includes Charter Schools in its definition of “Public Schools” when reporting demographics and performance outcomes.
At the bottom of each column is a “button” link to the profiles of individual schools within each District. There are three categories of schools within each District:
1. Traditional Public Schools managed and overseen by the District’s democratically elected school board.
2. Charter Schools overseen by a committee appointed by each school’s sponsor, but not managed by the District.
3. Private Schools overseen by each school’s sponsor. Private schools, just like Charters, are not managed by the school District.
